Side A recorded March 4, 1949, New York, NY. Side B recorded July 1, 1948, New York, NY. Merco plastic Billy Moore, Jr. is credited as the writer of "Baby, Get Lost," but Leonard Feather wrote the song and used Moore's name in place of his--Feather and Moore were friends. Per Joel Whitburn's book, "Top R&B Singles 1942-1988" : A side was Washington's 2nd #1 hit, spending 2 weeks at #1 spot, and more than 3 months total on the R&B chart. It also made it to #1 on Billboard's Juke Box chart.
